In 2018, he suffered a spinal injury in an accident at work, which led to a disability of 60%. P.________ applied to the IV for retraining in order to be able to pursue a new gainful employment. The IV rejected the application, since P.________ could still be employed at 40% in his previous job. P.________ filed a complaint with the Federal Court. The Federal Court granted the appeal and overturned the decision of the IV. The Federal Court found that P.________ was no longer able to carry out his previous activity as a computer scientist due to his disability. The retraining is therefore necessary in order to enable P.________ a new gainful employment. The IV must reimburse P.________ the cost of retraining.
