| Summary: | In a case dated 11 February 2020, the Cour des assurances sociales ruled that the complainant was entitled to a disability pension. Previously, the Office for Disability Insurance for the Canton of Vaud had refused the benefits because no impairment of the ability to work was found. However, according to new medical reports, a deterioration in the mental state of the complainant was noted. The court ordered the Office to conduct an independent psychiatric expertise to assess the applicant's ability to work. The decision of the office was canceled and the matter was referred back for further investigation and a new decision. The court also ruled that the Office must bear the court costs and pay the complainant compensation in the amount of CHF 2,000. |
